Program Overview
This webinar titled “Social Media & Funeral Planning” provides information on social media in the context of social science and funeral planning. During this 1 hour informational session, we offer practical guidance licensees can share with families to address concerns about a decedent’s social media profiles. Upon completion of this program, the licensee will gain a clear understanding of the concerns family members have about a decedent’s social media profiles, and become familiar with the solutions and services available to address those concerns as part of modern-day funeral planning.
Learning Objectives
1. Explore the history of social media networks and the social science of relationships.
2. Discover the rate of adoption of social media across age groups and generations.
3. Identify the statistics behind the various mediums families use to communicate.
4. Recognize how a decedent’s social media profiles can impact family, friends, and others.
5. Understand pre-need and at-need funeral planning approaches for social media profiles.
Continuing Education (CE) Information
This course has been designed to meet state licensing board requirements for continuing education (CE) approval. Completion of the examination is required to earn 1 CE credit hour for this program. State boards have the final authority on the acceptance of programs for CE credit. State boards reserve the right to determine the number of CE hours awarded.
