This past Friday, October 27, 2017, an event titled “Linkin Park & Friends Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington” was held at the Hollywood Bowl in California. Chester Bennington was best known as the lead singer for the rock band Linkin Park. Tragically, he took his own life on July 20, 2017. His music impacted a global audience, and his legacy will continue to live on through his bandmates, family, fans and social media profiles.
In honor of Chester’s life, all of the performers fee’s from Friday’s celebration were donated to the Music for Relief's One More Light Fund in Memory of Chester Bennington. To help raise awareness of suicide prevention or to show your support for Chester, please make a donation to the fund, reach out to someone in need, or share your stories and thoughts on Chester’s (and Linkin Park’s) social media pages below: Linkin Park Official Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/linkinpark/ Twitter - Chester Bennington https://twitter.com/chesterbe Instagram - Chester Bennington https://www.instagram.com/chesterbe On May 18th, 2017 Chester posted a heartfelt message to Instagram after Chris Cornell, the lead vocalist for the rock band Soundgarden, committed suicide. Only 2 months later, Chester succumbed to the same fate, and his same heartfelt words apply: “I pray you find peace in the next life. I send my love to your wife and children, friends and family. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your life.” If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1 (800) 273-8255 or visit their website and live chat here or click here for a list of international hotlines. The founding of Profile Peace was sparked by a loss similar to Chester’s, and we encourage anyone and everyone to reach out and help those in need before that chance is lost forever.
